The Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica was opened, marking the start of
the 2025 Jubilee Year
The entire human race from all four corners of the earth is represented by four stylized figures. They are embracing each other, a solidarity that unites all peoples. It represents camaraderie. The first person holding ✞ is holding on to his or her faith. It is a sign and a ｓｉｇｎ of hope that will never be thrown away. The surging waves beneath the figure remind us that life’s journey is not always a gentle one. It shows. The ✞ that grows long, changes into the shape of an ⚓ (anchor), and is lowered into the waves. It is highlighted at the bottom. ⚓ is used as a metaphor for hope. As this logo represents, What you should not miss is that pilgrimage journey is not personal, community -like, and even more, it means that it has the dynamism of moving toward the cross. This cross is not static, it’s dynamic. Don’t abandon humanity, reach out towards humanity, find certainty of existence and complete hope. At the bottom of the logo is the theme of the 2025 Jubilee Year, “Pilgrim of Hope.” It is written in bright green letters.
