❖The Yokkaichi Monastery of the Escolapios Order welcomed two priests.

3. Memorial Day of Our Lady of Lourdes “World Day of the Sick” February 11th (Wed) 10:00
   At the 10:00 a.m. Mass, will be offered the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick.
   * Regarding the anointing of the sick : You can receive it at any time if you wish.
   A priest will visit you wherever you are, such as a hospital, facility, or home, so please contact the church.
4. Ash Wednesday (Beginning of Lent) February 18th (Wednesday)　Mass:7:00am /7:00pm
   FASTING is required in Lent (for people aged 18 to 59 years old) on : ・Ash Wednesday (Feb.18th)  Good Friday (April 3rd) ・ABSTINENCE is required (for people aged 14 and older) on : ・Ash Wednesday (Feb 18th) ・All Fridays in Lent (including Good Friday)
   FASTING = Only one full meal is allowed. Two snacks may be eaten (one in AM; the second at another time) on the day, but the combined amount of both should be smaller than the one full meal.　　ABSTINENCE = No meat can be eaten. Seafood is permitted.**
   (Abstinence and fasting are not required for people who are sick or pregnant)
   **A work of charity, devotion, or other form of abstinence/penance is allowed, as a substitute for avoiding meat.　　The church will be accepting palms from 2025 until Feb. 11th.

8. Foreign Language Mass Guidebook
   We have them available for loan on a shelf at the back of the church, but  please do not take them home after the mass.
   Please return them. If you wish, you can purchase them at the office. [110 yen per book]

■Schedule for January 2026■

We will be celebrating the coming of age of people turning 20 at the International Mass on Sunday, January 11th at 10:00. Please apply by contacting the office by Sunday, December 28th.

1. Month of the Dead (November): All Masses are dedicated to the dead.
   To request a memorial mass for those who have passed away, please fill out the name (spiritual name) on the application card at the back of the church and hand it to Father Adam or Father Victor. We also accept memorials from non-believers.
2.  Priest Ordination Ceremony: Saturday, November 8, 2025
   Location:Nodamachi Church, Sendai Diocese (Fukushima Prefecture)

4. First Communion Ceremony: Sunday, November 23rd, at 10:00 AM Mass.  Three children are preparing for their First Holy Communion. Please pray for them.
5. Kyoto Diocese Asia Exchange Day (November 23rd) Donation Request
   We appreciate your cooperation. Our goal is to reexamine the current state of faith of Japan, the Kyoto Diocese, parishes, and each of us individually through exchanges with other Asian countries, and to learn what God wants from us. To that end, donations will be used to promote exchanges between people (especially young people).

1. Month of the Rosary (October) Every Sunday from 9:15am, the Rosary will be recited in the Cathedral. Let’s pray while asking for the intercession of the Virgin Mary. Please join us.

3. World Mission Day Donations: October 19th
   Donations for World Mission Day will be collected from around the world by the Vatican and sent to mission fields around the world. We ask for your prayers and donations.

4. Bazaar: Sunday, October 26th, after Mass at 10:00 AM Location: St. Mary’s Hall
   We will be holding a bazaar to raise funds for repairs to the St. Mary’s Hall.
   We have raffle tickets (no blanks) available for 300 yen each. Please feel free to purchase one.
   New items, clothing (cleaned, like new), etc. will be stored in the St. Mary’s Hall reception room.We are also accepting stalls and items (handmade goods). Please see the notice board in the cathedral lobby for details. Applications accepted until October 19^th.

   August 25th is the feast day of Saint Joseph Calasans, founder of the Escolapios Order. Sunday, August 24th, 10:00 AM: International Mass (Mass in Latin)
   After Mass, a party will be held in Maria Hall. We welcome requests for food,  drinks, and other entertainment (performances). Please write your name, details, etc. on the message board. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
   This year we will be holding a karaoke competition. Everyone, please come and join us. Let’s pray and celebrate together!
   Parking on August 24th: As there is a limit to the number of cars that can be parked on the church grounds,we will be using the “Umi no Hoshi Catholic Kindergarten Parking Lot” (shown on the right). Please feel free to use it.

   These funds are earmarked for the Pope’s activities. In unity with the Pope, we also offer prayers and donations for those who are suffering around the world.
